Looking Back: 2017 Dangal ng Lipi

Did you know?

A year ago, MSI Jr. Founder and Head Coach, Rafael Nicolas "Coach Paeng" Dionisio was awarded at the 2017 Dangal ng Lipi - sa Larangan ng Isports at the The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center, Malolos, Bulacan on 15 September 2017.

Through his endeavour to train and help athletes finish their college, as of today, more than 80 student-athletes gained full scholarship in universities like University of Santo Tomas, far Eastern University, Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, University of the Philippines, National University and Bulacan State University.

Del Pilarian Shuttlers Gold and Silver Medalists at the 31st Milo Little Olympics

Del Pilarian Shuttlers, also part of the MSI Jr., finished in triumph at the 31st Milo Little Olympics held last September 7-9, 2018 at the Baguio Athletic Bowl, Baguio City.

Headed by Coach Paeng Dionisio and assisted by Coach Beverly Albaña, the Boys and Girls Team won the Gold and Silver medals respectively. Also, Mark Anthony Bernal received the Most Valuable Player award.

We are grateful for your hard work, our warm CONGRATULATIONS to all of you!

We would like to extend also our grateful appreciation to Honourable Mayor Atty. Christian D. Natividad and City Sports Coordinator Anthony "Toti" Villanueva for your continuous support to our athletes.

Now on its 31st year, the MILO Little Olympics has been an avenue for budding student-althletes to enter the international sporting arena, keeping true to its heritage of building champions. The MILO LITTLE OLYMPICS is the DEVELOPMENTAL version of the Summer Olympic Games.

Philippine Junior Badminton Team joins Asia Junior Sports Exchange Games in Tokyo, Japan

From 28th to 30th August 2015, Tokyo Metropolitan Government will host the Asia Junior Sports Exchange Games 2015 to contribute to the progress of youth athletic ability and the development of the next generation of athletes.

Incredibly talented young athletes from 18 international and Japanese cities will come together for keen badminton and table tennis competitions. 

Qualifiers are Bangkok, Delhi, Hanoi, Hong Kong*, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Seoul, Singapore, Taipei, Tomsk*, Ulaanbaatar, Yangon, Iwate Pref., Miyagi Pref., Fukushima Pref., Ibaraki Pref., Tokyo (*Table Tennis only)

In Badminton, Manila competes with Seoul today, 28th August 2015 after the opening ceremony at Komazawa Olympic Park General Sports Ground Gymnasium (1-1 Komazawakoen, Setagaya Ward, Tokyo).

Sun Cellular shuttlers vying in Tokyo tourney

A WELL-HONED Philippine badminton team is set to see action in the Asian Junior Sports Exchange 2015 on Aug. 25 to 31 in Tokyo.

The team is made up of Jewel Albo, Ian Maui Santos, Ramon Timothy Santos, Mikaela Joy de Guzman, Mica Airah Ibong and Olivia Jean Sanvictores, all products of the Sun Cellular National Juniors Badminton tournament.

Rafael Nicolas Dionisio and Wilfredo Albo will coach the squad.

Meanwhile, the Mindanao leg of the Sun Cellular Badminton tournament gets going on Aug. 21 to 23 at Smash N’ Drop Badminton Center in San Pedro Extension, Davao City.
Organizer Forthright Events and Sports Management Inc. is now accepting registrants at suncellularjuniors.com until Aug. 15.

The event is bankrolled by Sun Cellular and MVP Sports Foundation and backed by Smash Pilipinas and Victor.

TOP JRS. VIE IN ASIAN SPORTS EXCHANGE BADMINTON

Jewel Albo, Ian Maui Santos and Ramon Timothy Santos head the national team vying against the top players in the region in the Asian Juniors Sports Exchange 2015 slated Aug. 25-31 in Tokyo.

Joining the squad are Mikaela Joy de Guzman, Mica Airah Ibong and Olivia Jean Sanvictores, all products of the Luzon qualifier of the Sun Cellular National Juniors Badminton tournament.

Coaches Rafael Nicolas Dionisio and Wilfredo Albo will handle the squad whose stint is sanctioned by the Philippine Badminton Association.

Meanwhile, the Mindanao leg of the Sun Cellular badminton circuit will be held Aug. 21-23 at the Smash N’ Drop Badminton Center in San Pedro Extension, Davao City.

The top performers of the three-day event sponsored by Sun Cellular and MVP Sports Foundation and backed by Smash Pilipinas and Victor exclusively distributed by Pcome Industrial Sales Inc. will gain berths in the national finals next month.

Smart Sports’ Christopher Quimpo said the circuit is part of the MVP Sports Foundation’s efforts to discover talents in the countryside and train and develop them to become members of future national pools.
