MHPNHS Badminton Team led by yours truly has developed badminton athletes over the years. It has grown and evolved as a strong team in numerous competitions. Their training program focuses on skill development (current ability), future potential, and commitment to badminton.
As a coach/trainer, I have continuously implemented initiatives to get more youth playing badminton, and get more schools to include badminton in their programs to find the next generation of badminton talents. I became a leader in badminton clinics as part of my commitment with the sport.
In May 2011, the City Government of Malolos conducted a free badminton clinic to encourage the youth and involve themselves into sports. I have carried-out this one-week training which was participated by several potential athletes from the private and public schools. It was also a chance for me to encourage these future athletes and also their parents to pursue badminton.
From the free training, a group of students from Tikay Elementary School have shown their constant interest, potential and passion with the sport.
Since badminton training involves continuous program which requires discipline, commitment, determination, excellence and a budget, I have offered and provided them an intensive training and their other sporting needs at no cost with a goal to prepare them to be part of the MHPNHS Badminton Team in the near future. These soon-to-be athletes can also be representatives for various national competitions. Furthermore, these students will truly benefit not only by becoming an athlete, but also future scholars to universities.
With my objective to encourage and find more future athletes, I have continuously supported badminton clinics carried out every summer.
